Winters come easy on the West Coast and there's always something going on in the botanical world out here. Some poor plant, suckered by the mild weather thinks it's a different time of year and sends up it's most seductive floral display, bees and birds join in the festivities and until the heat of summer actually happens the photo ops are endless.

You know, John, these are so beautiful. They are like nothing I've ever seen as "flower photos." to me these transcend that distance of "appreciation" one usually feels in "flower photos" These take the viewer into the world of the plant. There is almost a tactile sense about them; such a sense of volume and magical space. Really wonderful.
